Make Christmas a Happy Time for Everyone

Homeless Person

Christmas is a time for giving across the country. At UWM Accountants, we want to make sure we’re a part of that in the local community. That’s why we’re working with two local organisations –Radio Aire Mission Christmas and Turning Lives Around – to make Christmas a happy time for everyone.

Read on to find out about our involvement in these two incredible causes.

Mission Christmas

Mission Christmas is a national campaign run by Cash for Kids. Each year, a collection of local radio stations, including Radio Aire in Leeds and West Yorkshire, appeal for donations and gifts to help children in poverty across the country.

At UWM Accountants, we think that all kids should have something to open at Christmas. We first supported Mission Christmas in 2018, collecting gifts and calling for donations “ including many from our own team.

We’re happy to say we’ll be supporting the campaign again this year. Our team, who all have kids themselves, will be bringing toys in which will be handed over to Radio Aire for distribution around Leeds.

Of course, when it comes to Christmas gifts, it’s definitely a case of ˜the more the merrier’. If you want to help out, you can make a donation or drop off gifts at our office and we’ll pass them on to Radio Aire.

Turning Lives Around

We’re also delighted to be working with Turning Lives Around, who contacted us towards the end of 2019. Based in Leeds, Turning Lives Around works to prevent homelessness “ an issue we’ve seen all around Leeds “ with accommodation, care and support.

However, living in temporary accommodation, many of the people don’t have the basic clothes and toiletries most of us take for granted. To keep up their amazing work, Turning Lives Around needs as much help as possible with donations of:

  • Food that can be given to people waiting on benefits payments
  • Toiletries to help men and women who have had to leave home suddenly
  • Unwanted gifts for raffle prizes
  • Money to buy any of the above

To do our bit, our team has been bringing in items from the list above which will be dropped off at the organisation. If you want to get involved, feel free to pop in and make your donation which we can pass on to Turning Lives Around, or get in touch with them directly at 4 Ashbrooke Business Park in Leeds.

Get involved

Whether it’s a cash donation, unwanted gift or a few toiletries, we’re still collecting for both our charities – with lots collected already!

If you want to drop something off, however big or small, you can find us at European House, 93 Wellington Road, Leeds “ LS12 1DZ. We hope to see you soon!
