It’s that time of year again. The lights are up, the presents are wrapped and the mistletoe is strategically positioned. But as well as being a time for family, for friends and for fun, it’s also a time for thinking of others. Unfortunately, there are many, many people in the world who are not able to enjoy the festive period
At UWM, we are committed to helping those less fortunate than ourselves all around the globe. We incorporate a sense of charity and giving back into everything that we do, and through our partnership with global business-charity organisation B1G1, we continue to make a difference to thousands of people all over the world. As of this year, B1G1 has touched the lives of more than 55 million people worldwide and our partnership with them has allowed us to help 88,313 people. That’s almost double the amount of people we managed to reach by this time last year (just over 46,000 impacts) and we are proud to continue expanding our beneficial influence on impoverished and underprivileged communities around the globe.
As we did last Christmas, UWM will be focusing our efforts this year by asking each member of our team to select a deserving cause from more than 600 which B1G1 support that is meaningful to them. By organising our charity programme in this way, each team member will be giving to a project that is uniquely important. As a consequence, UWM as a whole will be able to improve the lives of 2,252 people.
Here are the individuals projects outlined below, as picked by our team:
